WTF Baseball Your Coke Bottle!
What’s better than cricket.. yeah I really don’t know, I would imagine a lot of things, but this was still an extremely cool guerrilla marketing concept. For Coca-Cola’s new sponsorship of the Australian Cricket Team, Coke wanted to get people at home excited for some Cricket, or as I like to call, “WTF-Baseball.” Developed by the creative duo Jane&James, this wonderful case study for Coca-Cola Australia was able to engage loyal cricket fans with not only a (2) 2lt bottle purchase, but a great brand association with the Australian Cricket Team. The bottle bat brought a new way to play the game, backyard cricket.
To help spread the word, coke promoted the idea through outdoor & TV mediums. This Ambient marketing stunt proved to really hit well with Coke’s Australian audience.
