Micro-Eggonomics – Ambient Marketing

Guerrilla Marketing ideas are everywhere. In this case, the BC Egg Marketing Board launched a province-wide (Canada) ambient marketing campaign to communicate the economic impact of cross-border shopping for something as simple as eggs.

Mirco-Eggonomics - Ambient MarketingAs Eggs are a minute purchase on our weekly shopping list, they seem to have a surprisingly large impact on the local economy as a result of cross-border shopping.

The Eggonomics campaign seeks to educate consumers with surprising facts that will encourage them to shop local.

Advertising Agency: DDB, Vancouver, Canada

Overall this ambient marketing stunt was well played, but it seems like DDB could of used a clearer medium for their message. I wouldn’t suggest changing anything that they did, but perhaps they could of printed facts on the all the egg cartons, so passer-bys can read it when they get close.
